What can I expect as a frontline officer?
Our security officers are deployed at client sites throughout the United Kingdom to help protect our clients’ business, property, assets, as well as their staff. This is achieved through our integrated security solutions which span mobile patrols, void property protection, CCTV monitoring & installation and construction site security services,
You will be trained in customer services, and you will always be an extension of our client’s customer service team. The threats which our clients face vary, therefore your job responsibilities will also change to meet the requirements of the client’s needs.
Do I need previous security experience?
Previous security experience is not a requirement. Anyone who has the desire, enthusiasm and meets our basic application requirements is encouraged to apply. You will receive training and mentoring to ensure you are more than ready to offer value to our clients.
What are the qualifications needed to work for my role?
- Minimum age of 21 years;
- Ability to read, speak and write English;
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- SIA licenced.
- Willingness to participate in our pre-employment screening process.
Are there any standards on appearance?
Guarding Professionals has a standard uniform, and all officers are expected to wear this uniform to represent the professionalism of the company. While uniforms are provided at no cost, our employees are expected to maintain an acceptable personal appearance that mirrors the uniform and appearance standards in our employee handbook.
What are the work hours?
Security is a 24/7 industry with day and night standard shifts available. In some circumstances the hours may vary but officers will be expected to work not less than an 8-hour shift.
How will I be paid?
Payroll is run at the end of the month and payment made by bank transfer. If you are on an hourly wage, the number of hours worked is multiplied by the hourly wage. Staff members who are on fixed term contracts will receive pro rata of the equivalent annual salary for the post. Employees are also entitled to bonuses at the discretion of management. There are pension schemes available which your line managers will discuss with you during the onboarding stage.
Can you help me get an SIA license?
Where necessary and depending on your circumstances, we can assist you to acquire your SIA licence. The cost of this may be recovered as soon as you start work.
Do you provide training?
Guarding Professionals works in partnership with Greenman Training Ltd as its training provider for guarding services, conflict management and first aid. We also have mentorship, on-the-job training, classroom instruction, e-learning, and specific training if required by the client. We have something for everyone to improve their skills.
Do you have part-time positions?
We offer flexible shift patterns, and competitive hourly wages. This can be on a part time or permanent basis.
Apprenticeship and mentoring
We offer apprenticeships for young people who want to gain experience within the security industry. This programme serves as a steppingstone for them to gain experience in the workplace.
Our programme will see you develop in all aspects of our business such as marketing and sales, operations, administration, and human resources.
